In generating AI-enhanced resumes, I utilized a prompt of uploading my resume to Chat-GPT and telling it to recreate my resume with two jobs in mind: one in Wealth Management and two in Investment Banking. I then uploaded the rubric, and then told it to “ask me any questions on information you need.” Something that I noticed GPT changed was the additional skills it knew I had from previous conversations. It included my skills in Excel, financial knowledge, and any other skills that would look good for those two jobs. Something I learned about prompt engineering was that you need to realize that ChatGPT will just generate whatever it wants, whether it cares about your specific needs or not. That’s why I included the rubric and exactly what I need from it, and even told it to ask my questions. For tailoring to different jobs, it’s very important to include and also remove certain info that doesn’t matter to that industry or could possibly even hurt you. For example, I work as a Lift Operator at Mt. Rose, but that information isn’t relevant at all to those two industries and could possibly even hurt me from stereotypes that come with the job.
