Being Scammed In 5th Grade Digitally and What I learned

In 5th grade, I was scammed out of my Fortnite account, which ended up being my first real lesson in online scamming and hoaxes. Another kid online claimed to trade his Fortnite account for mine (his being much better), and I believed him. I was convinced of giving my login info so he could log in to my account first and make sure it was all good, then he’d give his login info. The minute I sent my password, I was waiting for him to say “all good,” then send his login, but nope, he ended up leaving the call. I instantly felt it in my stomach and realized what had happened. I ended up telling my mom, who wasn’t too happy, and she was able to recover my account through Gmail. At the end of the day, this taught me to never believe something that sounds too good to be true and gave me a true sense of all the online scams, which was a pivotal learning moment for online success.
